Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a Senior Android Developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of core Android applications. This remote contract role collaborates with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences.

The developer will mentor junior engineers and guide architecture decisions, with 5+ years of Android experience, Kotlin/Java proficiency, and a Bachelor’s in CS or related field. Remote, W2 benefits available.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and modern UI frameworks.
• Experience with Retrofit, Room, SQLite, and asynchronous data handling.
• Preferred: cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; published Play Store apps.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced Android applications and maintain large codebases.
• Own architecture (MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture) and enforce SOLID.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and WebSockets.
• Profile performance, fix memory leaks, reduce crashes, and run tests with JUnit/Espresso.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, perform code reviews, and mentor teammates.
• Manage CI/CD and Google Play Store release processes.
