Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Android Developer for a remote contract role. You will lead design, development, and maintenance of core Android apps, collaborating with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver scalable, high-performance experiences. The developer will mentor junior and mid-level engineers and guide technical architecture decisions.

Rate: $60.00 to $70.00/hr. w2.

Qualifications

• 5+ to 8+ years of Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack Compose.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications from scratch or enhance large-scale codebases.
• Own application architecture such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture and ensure adherence to SOLID principles.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs, JSON, WebSockets, and backend services.
• Profile performance, address memory leaks, reduce crashes and ANRs, and implement unit and instrumentation tests.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; participate in code reviews.
• Manage Git-based source control and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Play Store release management.
