Job summary

Lab49 is seeking a Senior Android Developer to design and build advanced Android applications for financial services. You will work with a cross-functional team, contribute to architecture, and ensure high-quality code on enterprise and consumer platforms.

The role is onsite in NYC's World Trade Center five days a week, with opportunities to shape mobile UX and leverage modern pipelines in a fast-paced consulting environment. Strong banking domain experience is valued.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing and building complex, commercial-grade software systems.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and native Android development tools such as Jetpack Compose.
• Experience in consumer banking including account management and onboarding.
• Familiarity with integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles and best practices to create intuitive and engaging user experiences.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform utilized in financial services.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, and technologists to deliver enterprise apps and consumer app store deployments.
• Promote robust software architecture and engineering best practices.
• Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions for Lab49 clients.
• Ensure code quality, edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Advocate test-driven development and high-quality, resilient solutions.
• Resolve defects and optimize application performance.
