Job summary

Snapchat is seeking a seasoned Android engineer to push the envelope of mobile experiences, building smooth, scalable features from design through launch and delivering production-ready apps for monetization.

You will lead technical initiatives, review code for correctness and security, and leverage AI tools to optimize architecture, performance, and user experience in demanding, large-scale mobile applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 9+ years of post-bachelor software development experience
• 1+ years of technical leadership or domain expert
• Experience with Android application development
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Java, RxJava, Dagger
• Ability to prioritize duties and work independently
• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools and auditing generated output for architecture, performance, and security
• Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools
• Preferred: experience with large-scale customer-facing mobile applications
• Preferred: experience leading teams to deliver sophisticated initiatives

Responsibilities

• Develop features from design through implementation and launch
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs and collaborate with design on UI and infrastructure practices
• Perform code reviews to guarantee code quality
• Drive Android ad inventory and platform work for Snapchat's Monetization, Ad Format Team
• Work with emphasis on networking and client performance
