Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Monetization, Ad Format Team in Palo Alto. You will own Android-focused ad inventory and platform work, focusing on networking and client performance, while advancing AI-assisted development and scalable services.

Lead with architecture and collaborate on UI and infrastructure best practices, delivering smooth, stable user experiences. You will evaluate tradeoffs, participate in code reviews, and push for high-quality, production-ready

Qualifications

• 9+ years of post-Bachelor software development experience, or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years plus experience.
• Android app development experience required.
• Experience leading teams to deliver sophisticated initiatives.

• We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Monetization, Ad Format Team
• The team owns Snapchat’s client-side ads stack on iOS and Android — Ad format rendering and delivery, plus the ad platform and inventory layers underneath
• This Staff role will drive our ad inventory and platform work on Android, with a strong emphasis on networking and client performance
• We’re looking for someone fluent in modern Android internals who’s also leaning into the latest agentic development workflows to move faster
• Push the limits of mobile devices and build great user experiences
• Build smooth, stable, and fun products
• Develop features from design through implementation and launch
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision and work with design on the best UI and infrastructure practices
• Perform code reviews that guarantee code quality
• Utilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code
