Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Team Lead to own core Android product work in a 100% distributed setting. You will write and review code, own features end-to-end, and guide the team’s technical direction while delivering high-quality audio/text-to-speech experiences across Android, iOS, and web.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to ship reliable features, improve performance, and ensure robust testing. This is a hands-on leadership role for a fast-growing, remote team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or long-running tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration across Product, Design, and Engineering.
• Proven ability to ship features end-to-end and drive team impact.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from concept to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide meaningful feedback.
• Unblock the team when others are stuck.
• Promote best practices and standardize implementations.
• Lead planning to focus on decisions still needed.
