Job summary

The Athletic Media Company is seeking a Senior Manager, Analytics to lead and scale our Growth Product Insights practice after migrating to a modern data warehouse. You will act as a hands‑on player‑coach, defining KPIs and guiding a growing team of data analysts to turn subscriber and product data into high‑leverage decisions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data analytics or related roles delivering reporting, analysis, and strategic insight.
• 1–3+ years managing data scientists or analysts and elevating analytical judgment.
• Strong SQL and experience with large-scale cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in Python or R for statistical modeling and data manipulation.
• Experience with modern BI/Data Visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Data Analysts and grow talent.
• Shift analytics to proactive strategic inquiries and translate data into business recommendations.
• Embed with Product, Design, and Growth leaders to influence roadmap strategy.
• Oversee experimentation (A/B testing), causal inference, and cohort modeling.
• Establish standardized, trusted metric definitions and data governance.
• Integrate modern AI tools to streamline workflows and boost capacity.
