Job summary

GEICO is seeking a data engineer to develop and maintain data delivery solutions supporting operational reporting. You will design data models, build datasets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable pipelines. The role emphasizes modernization of SAS solutions to dbt and Power BI within a hybrid work model.

The position requires 5+ years of data analytics experience in insurance or P&C, strong SQL & ETL/ELT skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong foundation in modern data architecture concepts such as data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, lakehouses.
• Design scalable data models and data delivery solutions for complex projects, with guidance from architecture and leadership teams as needed.
• Execute ETL/ELT workflows using dbt, Azure Data Factory, or related tools.
• Apply advanced SQL to write, debug, optimize, and maintain queries and data pipelines.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
