Job summary

US Tech Solutions is seeking a Scientist for our Bioresearch Center in Worcester, MA to join the Analytical Development team. You will develop and apply LC-MS and biophysical methods to characterize biologics across discovery to commercial stages.

The role emphasizes method development, data integrity, and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced biotech environment. This 12‑month contract requires strong communication and lab skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related field with typically 5+ (BS) or 2+ (MS) years of biotech/pharma experience.
• Hands‑on experience with protein mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and protein biophysical characterization.
• Knowledge of HPLC or AKTA instrumentation.
• Fundamental understanding of protein structure, post‑translational modifications, and analytical methods used for protein characterization.
• Working knowledge of bioinformatics tools to process and analyze mass spectrometry data is desirable.
• Knowledge of vibrational spectroscopy (IR, NIR, Raman) and multivariate analysis is desirable.
• Proficient with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding safety and handling of materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform mass spectrometry analyses of biologics to provide sequence verification and PTM profiles.
• Independently perform separation methods using HPLC and AKTA.
• Perform biophysical methods (DSC) to support characterization studies.
• Design and execute experiments for method development and investigations.
• Support process development by materials analysis and metabolomics experiments.
• Generate and communicate precise, reliable data in a timely manner.
• Organize and document experiments in ELN.
• Draft protocols and technical reports.
• Maintain lab equipment.
