Hamilton Lane is a global leader in private markets and seeks a Senior Analyst, Valuation to join a team delivering quarterly, monthly, and daily valuations for direct equity and credit portfolios. You will work with senior professionals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will build financial models, perform research on securities, and prepare valuation reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years of experience in valuation, financial modeling, or related analytical role.
• Demonstrated experience constructing and reviewing financial models.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments across industries and geographies.
• Build, modify, and utilize financial models for enterprise, equity, and debt valuations (DCF, market multiples, precedents).
• Research securities, industries, competitors, and markets; analyze market data, ratios, and credit spreads.
• Review financial statements, investment memoranda, and documents to understand assets.
• Prepare valuation reports and presentations for internal/external stakeholders.
• Support valuation conclusions and respond to auditor inquiries.

The Opportunity: As a Senior Analyst, Valuation at Hamilton Lane, you will join a team dedicated to the valuation of our direct equity and credit portfolio. In this role you will assist in the delivery of quarterly, monthly and daily valuations of portfolio company securities. This position offers significant exposure to senior professionals, diverse industries, and complex financial instruments, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments, including debt and equity securities, across a wide range of industries and geographies.
• Build, modify, and utilize financial models for estimating business enterprise and equity and debt instrument valuations, including discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiples, precedent transactions, and equity value allocation models.
• Perform comprehensive research on securities, industries, competitors, and capital markets, including gathering and analyzing market data, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.
• Review and analyze financial statements, investment memoranda, and transaction documents to develop a thorough understanding of the assets being valued.
• Prepare clear, well-organized valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support valuation conclusions and respond to auditor inquiries regarding valuation analyses.
• Collaborate with team members across the firm to ensure high-quality, timely completion of assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Must-haves

• Must-haves: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years of experience in valuation, financial modeling, or a related analytical role.
• Demonstrated experience constructing and reviewing financial models.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

• Progress toward CFA / ASA / ABV designation or relevant professional certification.
• Experience in valuation, financial statement analysis, or related areas.
• Experience working with market data sources such as S&P Capital IQ.
• Prior experience in a professional services, accounting, or valuation firm.
