Job summary

Hamilton Lane is seeking a Senior Analyst, Valuation to join our team in the United States. You will contribute to quarterly, monthly and daily valuations of portfolio securities, building and refining financial models and performing market research across industries and geographies.

The role offers exposure to senior professionals and complex instruments, with opportunities for growth in a collaborative, fast-paced firm. Strong Excel skills and a finance background are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in valuation, financial modeling, or related analytical roles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to build and review financial models.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments, including debt and equity securities across diverse industries and geographies.
  • Build, modify and utilize financial models (DCF, market multiples, precedent transactions) for valuations.
  • Perform market and securities research, gather data, compare ratios and credit spreads.
  • Review financial statements, investment memoranda, and transaction documents to understand assets.
  • Prepare clear valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely, high‑quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will assist in the delivery of quarterly, monthly and daily valuations of portfolio company securities. This position offers significant exposure to senior professionals, diverse industries, and complex financial instruments, providing an excellent opportunity for professional growth in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments, including debt and equity securities, across a wide range of industries and geographies.Build, modify, and utilize financial models for estimating business enterprise and equity and debt instrument valuations, including discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiples, precedent transactions, and equity value allocation models.Perform comprehensive research on securities, industries, competitors, and capital markets, including gathering and analyzing market data, comparable ratios, and credit spreads.Review and analyze financial statements, investment memoranda, and transaction documents to develop a thorough understanding of the assets being valued.Prepare clear, well-organized valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.Support valuation conclusions and respond to auditor inquiries regarding valuation analyses.Collaborate with team members across the firm to ensure high-quality, timely completion of assignments in a fast-paced environment.Qualifications:Must-haves:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution.2+ years of experience in valuation, financial modeling, or a related analytical role.Demonstrated experience constructing and reviewing financial models.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.Superior written and verbal communication abilities.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.Authorization to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.Nice-to-haves:Progress toward CFA / ASA / ABV designation or relevant professional certification.Experience in valuation, financial statement analysis, or related areas.Experience working with market data sources such as S&P Capital IQ.Prior experience in a professional services, accounting, or valuation firm.Travel Requirements: N/ABenefitsAt Hamilton Lane, our benefits philosophy is simple: to provide our employees with a competitive suite of benefits and services to help navigate through the complexities and challenges of working, living, raising a family, and eventually retiring.
