Job summary

Robinhood seeks a Senior Specialist, Model Validation & Analytics, to validate and tune AML surveillance models and data pipelines. You will work with AML Surveillance, software engineers, and data scientists to ensure robust, compliant implementations across domestic and international lines of business.

You will quantify model performance, test data pipelines, and document validation results while communicating complex findings to non-technical partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative, technical, or financial field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crimes, or risk management within financial services or fintech.
• 3+ years in AML rule-based systems and/or machine learning models with knowledge of Model Risk Management principles.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or R for data analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Model Validation & Review: analyze rule-based and ML financial crimes models for design, data integrity, and change management.
• Technical Review & Remediation: collaborate with engineers to evaluate models, data pipelines, and remediation of issues.
• Optimization & Model Tuning: calibrate surveillance models to maximize detection and reduce false positives.
• Data Integrity & Validation: validate data quality across key pipelines feeding compliance models.
• Subject Matter Expertise: provide AML/model risk insights to partners and explain trade-offs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with engineering, product, and compliance teams.
• Change & Issue Management: maintain traceability and documentation for audits and regulators.
• AI Strategy & Tech-Forward Adoption: apply AI/LLMs and automation to improve productivity and quality.
• Documentation & Reporting: produce validation reports and executive summaries with actionable recommendations.
