Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Traffic Operator based in Newark, NJ to support the Mobility Operations Team. You will manage multiple assignments, coordinate with Port Authority staff and other agencies, and monitor traffic mitigation measures at airport terminals.

Responsibilities include maintaining logs, ensuring incident protocols, and communicating with transportation agencies during day-to-day operations and major events. A strong safety mindset and knowledge of regional highways are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in traffic operations/ traffic management field.
• Background in traffic operations and coordination with agencies.
• Ability to read a map and be familiar with major highways in NY/NJ region.

Responsibilities

• Monitor traffic mitigation measures at airport terminals.
• Coordinate/communicate with PAPD and Landside Operations.
• Complete SaabSafe Module and maintain logs of information.
• Coordinate with NJ Turnpike, NJ Transit, NJ State Police, NJDOT, and others during operations.
• Ensure incident protocols are followed and oversee shift continuity.
• Attend external meetings on behalf of EWR-AOC/PNEPAMT-POC.
• Monitor construction delays and traffic patterns for safety and mobility.
