Job summary

Pratt & Whitney's Cold Section Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Holt, Michigan. You will lead airfoil design activities, drive corrective actions, and partner with operations, quality, procurement, and suppliers to resolve production issues and implement producibility improvements.

You will build technical expertise in airfoil design, progress toward delegated approver responsibilities, and present status updates to management while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in Engineering with 3 years of engineering experience.
• Experience with airfoil design and production support.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute corrective actions, Quality Notifications (QNs), Class II engineering changes, Cost of Poor Quality initiatives, and producibility improvements to improve quality, cost, and production performance.
• Identify value-stream waste and recurring defects, perform root-cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions and process improvements.
• Work with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and engineering SMEs to resolve production issues, support MRB activities, and assist Stop Delivery Order/Fleet Podding Notification investigations to closure.
• Develop technical expertise as an airfoil SME, serve as a primary contact for airfoil design activities, and progress toward Delegate Approver responsibilities for applicable hardware.
• Prepare and present technical status and recommendations to Cold Section Engineering (CSE), ESTO, and Operations management, while capturing lessons learned and establishing right-sized, risk-based analysis practices.
