Job summary

Pratt & Whitney’s Cold Section Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) in Holt, Michigan, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join the Commercial Fan Blade Design Team. You will support production and engineering through problem-solving, engineering changes, and producibility initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and SMEs, developing airfoil expertise and advancing toward delegated approver responsibilities for hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in Engineering with 3 years of engineering experience.
• Relevant engineering experience in engineering design, manufacturing, production support, or technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute corrective actions, Quality Notifications (QNs), Class II engineering changes, Cost of Poor Quality initiatives, and producibility improvements to improve quality, cost, and production performance.
• Identify value-stream waste and recurring defects, perform root-cause investigations, and implement sustainable corrective actions and process improvements.
• Work with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, procurement, suppliers, and engineering SMEs to resolve production issues, support MRB activities, and assist investigations to closure.
• Develop technical expertise as an airfoil SME, serve as a primary contact for airfoil design activities, and progress toward Delegate Approver responsibilities for applicable hardware.
• Prepare and present technical status and recommendations to management, capturing lessons learned and establishing risk-based analysis practices.
