Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Airfield Paving Engineer to lead design efforts for DoD airfield pavement projects. You’ll design pavements with PCASE, edit specifications, perform QA/QC, and prepare analyses and scopes of work.

You will also guide design teams, support construction, and help grow HDR’s visibility in the industry while mentoring staff and driving DoD procedures. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS installations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a must.
• PE license is required; DoD airfield pavement design experience and project management are a plus.
• 10+ years in airfield pavement design for DoD clients; DoD design methods experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HDR’s leading Subject Matter Expert in airfield pavement design for DoD clients.
• Design airfield pavements utilizing PCASE software and edit UFGS for airfield paving materials.
• Support construction by providing backstopping and advising on critical items.
• Lead design teams from planning to final designs for airfield pavement projects.
• Grow HDR’s industry visibility and assist with Business Development goals.
• Train staff, answer questions and explain DoD procedures.
• Perform other duties as needed.
