Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aircraft Systems Engineer in Upington, Northern Cape, offering a hybrid work model with on-site and remote elements. You will design, develop, integrate, and test hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and environmental control systems for modern aircraft.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, a relevant engineering degree, and proficiency with SysML, CAD, and MATLAB/Simulink. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety,

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
4+ years of experience in aircraft systems design, development, or integration.
Experience with one or more aircraft system domains (hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel, environmental control).

Responsibilities

Design and develop aircraft systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, environmental control).
Define system requirements, specifications and architectures per project and standards.
Conduct analyses and simulations to validate design and performance.
Oversee integration of aircraft systems for seamless operation.
Develop and execute test plans for system validation on lab and aircraft.
Troubleshoot issues during design, integration, or testing phases.
Collaborate with manufacturing, flight test, and support teams.
Prepare technical documentation (design reports, test procedures, manuals).
Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in aircraft systems engineering.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
