Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Performance Engineer to optimize aircraft performance, fuel economy, and flight planning in a hybrid role near Upington, SA. You will develop models, analyze flight data, and provide technical support for operations, design, and certification.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in aircraft performance, with strong aerodynamics, propulsion, and thermodynamics knowledge, plus experience with data tools and flight simulators. Hybrid work is offered.

Formación

• Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering or related field with specialization in performance engineering or aerodynamics.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in aircraft performance engineering or related aerospace discipline.
• Proficiency in aerodynamics, propulsion systems, flight mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with flight data acquisition and analysis is highly desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, validate, and maintain aircraft performance models and databases.
• Analyze flight data to assess aircraft performance, identify discrepancies, and recommend improvements.
• Provide technical expertise on aircraft performance for flight planning, operations, and mission analysis.
• Support aircraft design and certification processes by providing performance data and analysis.
• Conduct studies on fuel efficiency optimization and emission reduction strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical development.
