Job summary

Precision Air in Florence, SC seeks a Chief Inspector to lead the repair station Inspection team and ensure compliance with FARs, RSQCM, QMS and training programs. You will direct inspection standards, methods, and procedures and oversee records, forms, and release processes for aircraft and articles.

Required: FAA A&P certificate with IA preferred, 8+ years in an FAA Part 145 environment, and strong communication and organizational skills. ISO 9001 experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certificate is required; IA preferred.
• 8+ years in FAA Part 145 repair environment with supervisory/inspector roles.
• Must know FAA regulations and FARs relevant to maintenance programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to lead technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct training and management of the repair station Inspectors.
• Ensure inspections are properly performed and records completed prior to release.
• Approve forms and tags used by the repair station.
• Ensure technical data is current with latest revisions.
• Calibrate inspection tools and maintain calibration records.
• Verify no defective parts are installed in released articles.
• Submit reports of defects per 14 CFR §145.221.
• Ensure maintenance releases and FAA Form 337 when required.
• Guard against bogus/unapproved parts in procurement.
• Oversee proper tagging/identification of all parts.
• Segregate and quarantined unairworthy parts.
• Maintain regulatory library including FARs, data sheets, and ADs.
• Compile work orders and inspection forms for retrieval.
• Ensure entries on forms/work orders are correct.
• Ensure 14 CFR Part 43 logs are accurate.
• Serve as ISO Quality Manager and drive corrective actions and audits.
