Job summary

Kaman Air Vehicles in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Chief Inspector to ensure repair station, production and MRO activities comply with regulatory requirements and manufacturers recommendations. The position reports to the Senior Quality Manager.

You will supervise maintenance, repair and alteration work on rotorcraft and components, review FAA forms, and ensure inspection documentation is complete and compliant. Strong FAA knowledge and an A&P certificate are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in aviation maintenance or quality systems.
• Current FAA A&P certificate.
• Minimum 4 years of aircraft-related quality experience.
• Minimum 10 years of technical experience with Part 91 aircraft.
• Experience in a highly regulated QA environment.
• Strong knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 91, and 145.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Repair Station complies with regulatory requirements and manufacturer recommendations.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, and alteration work per applicable standards.
• Review FAA Form 8130-3 approvals and Part 21/Part 145 documentation.
• Maintain inspection records and conformity inspections.
• Ensure personnel are qualified and trained per procedures.
• Support development of quality standards and training programs.
