Job summary

Citizens is seeking a Distinguished Engineer, AI Tooling & Security to drive the design, engineering, and security of AI powered platforms across the enterprise. You will lead with hands-on technical leadership, mentor engineers, and partner with cross-functional teams to secure AI solutions at scale.

You will shape enterprise engineering standards, accelerate responsible AI adoption, and advance secure AI capabilities while enabling innovation and business growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, platform, security, or data engineering.
• Proven track record leading large-scale engineering initiatives.
• Deep understanding of AI, ML, generative AI, and agentic AI.
• Experience securing cloud-based applications and services.
• Strong Python programming and at least one more language.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms and AWS security.
• Linux expertise and Bash scripting.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
• Secure software development and API security expertise.
• Data structures, algorithms, distributed systems knowledge.
• Excellent communication and mentoring ability.

Responsibilities

• Build cloud-native apps and reusable components.
• Incorporate scalability, observability, and maintainability into distributed systems.

• Integrate security validation and adversarial testing into pipelines.
• Lead investigations into AI security incidents.
