Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking an AI Workflow and Systems Design Lead for a remote position. You will partner with business and technology teams to redesign workflows, define how people and AI collaborate, and translate strategic goals into implementation-ready designs.

You will create end-to-end systems of work, surface dependencies, and guide enterprise patterns. This senior role emphasizes AI-enabled workflows and human-in-the-loop design to deliver measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• ~10+ years in systems design, service design, workflow/process transformation, design strategy, digital transformation, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in systems thinking, service design, and workflow design with experience translating complex problems into future-state systems.
• Experience leading sophisticated, multi-functional engagements across units, systems, or platforms.
• Strong ability to create design artifacts such as systems-of-work blueprints, service blueprints, workflow maps, dependency maps, and operating-model designs.
• Strong AI fluency, including practical knowledge of generative AI, agents, automation, retrieval, and AI-enabled workflow patterns.
• Solid understanding of human-in-the-loop design and human-AI interaction.
• Ability to decompose workflows into tasks, decisions, context, data, knowledge, tools, rules, and exceptions.
• Strong business insight and ability to connect design decisions to measurable business value.
• Advanced visual communication and storytelling; Master’s degree in Design Strategy, HCI, Service Design, Business, Organizational Design, Technology, or related discipline.
• Training or certification in Systems Thinking, Service Design, Human-Centered Design, Lean Six Sigma, or AI-related disciplines.
• Experience redesigning workflows specifically for AI, intelligent automation, or agentic systems.
• Experience in service design, business-process transformation, or operating-model redesign.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI workflow reinvention and systems design across cross-functional teams.
• Design end-to-end systems of work connecting front-stage experiences with backstage people, processes, technology, data, and controls.
• Translate business needs into implementation-ready design artifacts.
• Define the division of work between employees, customers, partners, AI, and traditional systems.
• Develop repeatable enterprise patterns and reusable methods for systems-of-work design.
• Partner with business leaders to modernize workflows and AI initiatives.
• Contribute to CSAA's enterprise design methods, standards, and templates.
• Support discovery, design governance, and delivery with cross-functional teams.
