Job summary

Dialpad, an AI platform for customer experience, seeks a Sr. Software Engineer, Applied AI Systems to build agentic AI on our platform. You will work with Applied Scientists and partner with engineering teams to translate advanced AI capabilities into reliable customer-facing experiences.

This hands-on role focuses on backend services, model deployment, and real-time AI product delivery, shaping how our DialpadGPT models are integrated, evaluated, and monitored in production.

Qualifications

• Backend systems, distributed services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Python and clean, tested code.
• Building AI-enabled backend services in production.
• Observability, debugging and incident response experience.
• Ability to translate prototypes into durable systems.
• Strong collaboration with Applied Science, product and engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services and distributed systems for agentic AI applications.
• Partner with Applied Scientists to bring models and evaluation methods to production.
• Build software connecting models, data, and feedback into AI experiences.
• Develop APIs, data flows, and integration patterns for low-latency AI services.
• Create systems for model deployment, monitoring, and safe rollout.
• Improve reliability, latency, scalability, and cost efficiency of production AI systems.
• Contribute to evolution of DialpadGPT and supporting engineering systems.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and research to solve complex problems with measurable impact.
