Job summary

Capital One seeks a Staff AI Engineer to join the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, large language model inference, agents and governance, and observability, etc.

You will collaborate with engineers, research scientists, PMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One, while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field plus several years of AI/ML experience.
• Proven ability to design and deploy scalable AI systems.
• Strong programming experience in Python and at least one of Java/Go/Scala/CUDA.

Responsibilities

• Deliver AI-powered products with cross-functional teams across Capital One.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including LLMs and agents.
• Lead optimization for cost, latency, throughput, and scalability of production AI systems.
