Job summary

Capital One is seeking an AI Engineer to partner with engineers, researchers, and PMs to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, guardrails, and observability.

You will leverage a broad stack of Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in CS/AI/EE/CE or related field with 6+ years exp (or Master's with 4+ years).
6+ years of experience programming in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Responsibilities

Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that change how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including model training, inference, guardrails, evaluation, and observability.
Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies (AWS Ultraclusters, HuggingFace, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, PyTorch).
Invent LLM optimization techniques to improve performance, latency, throughput, and cost.
