Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to lead AI/ML initiatives on the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team.

You will partner with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product managers to deploy AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One. You will design, implement, test, and optimize AI software components, focusing on foundation model training, inference, agents, vector databases, and governance across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field with extensive AI/ML experience.
• 10+ years of experience developing AI/ML algorithms or related technologies.
• 10+ years of Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies.
• Lead foundation model optimization for scale, cost, latency, throughput.
• Define and steer the AI architecture vision and governance standards.
