Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI systems at scale. You will collaborate with engineers, researchers, PMs, and partners to deliver AI-powered products that transform how associates work and how customers interact with Capital One.

You will lead the development of foundation model training, LLM inference, orchestration, and observability, while leveraging AWS, HuggingFace, and VectorDBs to optimize performance and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/AI/EE/CE with 8+ years experience in AI/ML
• Alternatively, Master’s degree with 6+ years in AI/ML
• 8+ years of Python/Go/Scala/CUDA/Java programming

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
• Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies
• Own model routing, caching, and orchestration systems
