Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking an experienced AI engineering leader to architect, build, and scale production AI agents and intelligent systems across the firm. You will collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business partners to drive high-impact AI initiatives.

In this hybrid role, you will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and ensure robust design, observability, and cost controls for AI solutions on AWS and containerized microservices.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field; 8+ years in software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Java, or TypeScript with production delivery across teams.
• Design and deliver AI-enabled systems and agent-based workflows.
• Experience with AWS, containers, APIs, and modern delivery practices.
• Strong evaluation, testing, observability, and security focus.
• Able to mentor engineers and lead through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and evolution of AI agents and intelligent systems.
• Set technical direction for AI solutions across models, tooling, data, and infrastructure.
• Lead teams through ambiguous AI problems from experimentation to production.
• Define engineering standards for production AI including observability and guardrails.
• Guide development of reusable AI capabilities and platform components.
• Evaluate emerging AI models and frameworks and provide technical direction.
• Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship to engineers.
• Lead code reviews and resolve cross-team engineering challenges.
• Drive Build-Operate-Transfer by incubating AI products for production and scale.
• Ensure AI systems have quality, production readiness, and sustainable TCO.
• Identify opportunities for shared AI platforms and enterprise capabilities.
• Apply AI to accelerate workflows and create scalable business impact.
