Job summary

HighLevel is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the AI Studio Team, building a React‑based application builder that generates production‑ready websites from natural language. You will own architecture, drive design decisions, and serve as a hands‑on technical leader across app generation, domain publishing, and AI content systems.

You will mentor engineers, shape the roadmap with product and design, and ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of the platform in production.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend engineering with distributed systems experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and Node/NestJS for high‑performance services.
• Hands‑on with edge/serverless platforms like Cloudflare Workers and KV.
• Deep expertise in event‑driven architectures, data pipelines, and RAG patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture decisions for AI Studio platform components and scaling.
• Lead design and implementation of distributed systems with low latency and high throughput.
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and promote technical excellence across teams.
• Define long‑term roadmaps with PMs and designers and drive execution.
• Maintain SLOs, observability, and reliability during traffic spikes.
• Collaborate with infra, security, and product to ensure robust, compliant solutions.
