Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. seeks an AI Senior Manager to lead a dedicated team addressing strategic, complex challenges.

The role partners with executive leaders to identify high-value opportunities and shape flagship initiatives with clear value and measurable outcomes. The position involves building multidisciplinary teams, driving innovative practices, and translating evolving AI technologies into scalable business capabilities, while ensuring reliability and governance

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher in a technical field (CS/Engineering/Data Science).
10+ years of software engineering, data/analytics, AI/ML engineering, or related tech.
3+ years of leadership in technical teams.
Experience guiding cross-functional initiatives from strategy to implementation.
Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.
Deep expertise in CI/CD, testing, observability, version control, and security.
Experience with emerging AI technologies (agentic AI, orchestration, tool calling).

Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary teams across business, product, technology, data, AI, and transformation.
Partner with executive leaders to identify high-value opportunities aligned to strategy.
Translate strategic ambition into flagship initiatives with measurable outcomes.
Establish repeatable innovation and delivery practices (playbooks, frameworks).
Embed governance, risk, and reliability practices into initiatives.
Guide initiatives from vision through MVP, validation, and scale to enterprise impact.
