Job summary

Vizient seeks an Associate Principal, AI Optimization & Delivery – Solution Architecture to lead the technical design for AI initiatives. You will shape a scalable platform, define governance, and partner with leadership to align with enterprise architecture.

The role blends hands‑on design with systems thinking to enable secure, efficient AI delivery at scale. The position requires extensive experience in enterprise software, LLM orchestration, and a strong track record in architecting AI

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise software architecture, platform architecture, or related fields.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience delivering LLM orchestration and agentic systems in production.
• Strong systems‑thinking skills with ability to evaluate emergent behavior and architectural consequences.
• Proven ability to communicate architectural decisions and defend rationale.
• Experience designing AI/ML platform infrastructure, including deployment pipelines and observability.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation practices, prompt testing, and validation of probabilistic systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of documenting standards and architectures.
• Ability to collaborate with Stakeholders across Engineering, Security, Compliance, Data, Product.

Responsibilities

• Establish architectural standards for LLM‑enabled workflows and multi‑agent orchestration.
• Define patterns for hybrid systems balancing LLM judgment with deterministic code for safety and compliance.
• Architect foundational platform components including reusable templates, and RAG pipelines.
• Define data models for enterprise agent registries and context management strategies.
• Lead evaluations of AI technologies, document rationale, and support vendor‑agnostic decisions.
• Ensure data privacy and security boundaries for healthcare data (PHI/PII) with HIPAA considerations.
• Deliver architectural governance, telemetry, and observability to support rapid, compliant delivery.
