T. Rowe Price Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and scale production-grade AI agents. You will lead technical workstreams and partner with product teams to deliver high-impact AI products across the firm.

This hands-on role requires strong software fundamentals, practical AI engineering experience, and a product mindset. Hybrid work is available, with in-office collaboration at NYC or Harbor Point, Baltimore, plus opportunities to mentor peers.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications and AI workflows.
• Experience with cloud-native microservices and modern delivery practices.
• Strong OO programming in Python/Java/TypeScript.
• Ability to own complex problems and communicate trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design and delivery of production-grade AI agents and systems.
• Design agentic workflows and integration of tools.
• Partner with product owners to translate needs into scalable AI solutions.
• Lead technical workstreams from experimentation to production adoption.
• Establish evaluation and testing approaches for non-deterministic AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and lead code/design reviews.
• Drive improvement of patterns and practices in AI engineering.
• Support Build-Operate-Transfer model for long-term ownership.
