Job summary

T. Rowe Price Labs is seeking a Software Engineer on its AI Engineering team to design, develop, and deploy AI agents and intelligent systems within a Build-Operate-Transfer model.

You will work with engineers, product owners, and business partners to scale responsible AI solutions across the firm. This hands-on role focuses on problem solving across disciplines, building reusable AI capabilities, and applying strong engineering standards.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of professional development experience in an object‑oriented language (Java, Python, or JavaScript preferred).
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure), containerized microservices, and agent frameworks.
• Exposure to or strong interest in AI-enabled systems, intelligent workflows, or agentic applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents and intelligent systems for modern cloud-based architectures.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to develop agent-driven workflows.
• Contribute to product incubation by validating ideas and preparing solutions for production.
• Support the Build‑Operate‑Transfer model for long-term ownership and scale.
• Contribute to reusable AI capabilities across agent orchestration, prompt engineering, tool use, and retrieval-based systems.
• Apply best practices in AI development, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Manage technical debt and drive improvements in AI platforms.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI agents for business value and efficiency.
