Job summary

Cribl, a remote-first B2B SAAS data observability company, seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Security Products team. You’ll architect post-detection workflows and build autonomous, multi-agent investigation and response capabilities tailored to SOC environments.

You will work with Cribl Detect to ingest signals and drive automated investigations, leveraging LLMs, embeddings, and graph contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 12+ years building scale production software and AI SOC capabilities.
• Experience leading AI SOC projects including automation and investigation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect post-detection workflows, including autonomous triage, agentic investigation, evidence synthesis, and containment orchestration.
• Build production-grade reasoning systems using LLMs, embeddings, and context graphs to formulate hypotheses, gather evidence, and deliver explainable verdicts.
• Work closely with Cribl Detect to ingest high-fidelity detection signals and trigger automated investigations and responses.
• Explore agentic paradigms, multi-agent frameworks, and natural language SOC interfaces, validating concepts via prototypes.
• Write core abstractions, design agent communication protocols, review critical code, and set benchmarks for model accuracy, latency, and reliability.
• Build safe execution frameworks offering transparent reasoning trails and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Partner with product managers and security researchers to translate ideas into executable plans.
• Guide engineering talent and represent Cribl's AI SOC vision in architecture reviews and blogs.
• This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties.
