Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in California seeks an experienced security engineer to design AI security reference architectures and develop secure AI-driven services for our products. You will build reusable libraries, guardrails, and automated tests to mitigate AI-specific risks while translating threat models into concrete requirements and checks.

You will continually harden the platform by analyzing production signals and incident reports, and govern internal tooling to maintain a healthy balance

Qualifications

• Deep engineering expertise in designing and securing complex software.
• Strong judgment in data flows, permissions, and trust boundaries to improve safety.
• Ability to translate risks into concrete product features.
• Experience building reusable security tooling and automated tests.
• Knowledge of prompt injection testing and AI red teaming.
• Familiarity with enterprise SaaS requirements and internal tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design AI security reference architectures and build AI-driven security services for product development.
• Create reusable libraries and guardrails to default to secure implementations.
• Develop automated testing suites to identify and mitigate AI-specific vulnerabilities.
• Translate threat models into engineering requirements, production checks, and launch criteria.

• Govern internal tooling to balance developer productivity with security.
