Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is seeking a Principal AI Engineer located in the SF Bay Area to architect and deploy enterprise-grade AI platforms. You will drive architecturally significant AI initiatives, design agentic systems, and lead cross-functional teams across product, security, and cloud teams.

You will work with Python, Java, DataFlow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, and Vertex AI to build scalable, production-ready AI capabilities and governance models for mission-critical workloads.

Qualifikationen

• 9+ years of software engineering with 4+ years delivering production AI/LLM features, RAG platforms, and agentic architectures.
• Deep experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including Vertex AI, BigQuery, DataFlow, BigTable, and GKE.
• Expertise with multi-agent orchestration, AI frameworks, and data engineering pipelines.

Aufgaben

• Architectural Leadership: Define and execute the technical strategy for enterprise AI, LLM deployment architectures, and multi-agent systems.
• Agentic & Reasoning Systems: Design scalable multi-agent systems, autonomous decisioning engines, tool-use frameworks, and complex event-driven agentic workflows.
• Data & AI Infrastructure: Architect end-to-end streaming and batch data/embedding pipelines, hybrid search/RAG architectures, and vector indexing systems powering enterprise LLM features.
• Production Guardrails & Governance: Set enterprise standards for AI evaluation, observability, cost-performance optimization, safety guardrails, hallucination reduction, and security compliance.
• Technical Excellence: Mentor staff and engineers, establish code quality standards, and foster AI innovation across production.
