Job summary

Palo Alto Networks seeks a Senior Enterprise AI Security Engineer in California to lead securing AI adoption across the organization and protect AI-enabled operations.

You will inventory AI usage, uncover shadow AI tools, and build automated guardrails and remediation workflows to mitigate risks while enabling business velocity. Collaboration with Enterprise Security, Data Protection, and cloud teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise security engineering, application security, cloud security, or security architecture.
• Experience implementing AI guardrails (sensitive data and secrets detection, prompt-injection defenses and tool-call policies).
• Proven experience building automated detection and remediation workflows.
• Practical knowledge of IAM, Cloud Infrastructure, endpoint security and Data Protection/DLP.
• Proficiency in Python or Go for automation, API integrations and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, inventory and visibility of all AI usage across the enterprise, tracking approved systems and shadow AI tools.
• Architect, build and maintain automated remediation workflows and policy enforcement engines.
• Design threat mitigation controls against AI vulnerabilities (prompt injection, data leakage, model evasion).
• Collaborate with Enterprise Data Protection to design context-aware DLP for AI pipelines.
• Assess AI applications, agents, integrations and third‑party AI products.
• Research emerging AI security frameworks and tooling (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, MITRE ATLAS, NIST AI RMF).
• Work with cloud, infrastructure and application security teams to harden hosting environments and API gateways.
