Job summary

Truist is seeking a senior AI risk strategist to serve as a trusted advisor on AI risk governance across the bank. The role requires navigating complex, cross-disciplinary risks and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.

You will lead governance, risk assessment, and policy considerations for AI initiatives, assisting across risk, technology, and business functions in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of banking, technology, operations or risk management experience.
• Experience with AI lifecycle governance and risk assessment methodologies.
• Knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong business acumen, management experience, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience operating independently and navigating ambiguity to deliver value.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage complex initiatives and deliver executive-level work products.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across business units to promote risk-based approaches to AI risk.
• Build trusted relationships across functions to support governance of AI risks.
• Translate AI risks into actionable risk-management considerations for stakeholders.
• Assess issues and determine if they need policy decisions, risk acceptance, or escalation.
• Provide expert challenge and independent perspective on AI risk matters.
• Recommend and advance AI risk methodologies, governance principles, and control approaches as technologies evolve.
• Promote consistent application of AI risk-management frameworks and standards.
• Exercise sound judgement to turn ambiguity into action and influence stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor junior team members and help build AI risk talent and leadership.
