Job summary

Truist is seeking a Chief Data Risk Officer to build and lead independent risk oversight for Enterprise Data and AI management. You will shape data risk strategy, policies, and governance across data offices, AI, and technology, reporting to the CIRO.

Lead second-line risk challenges and regulatory interactions with senior leaders. Responsibilities include establishing risk appetite, overseeing risk assessments, and driving risk reduction across data, AI, cyber and third-party vendors.

Qualifications

• 15+ years managing data & risk in large financial institutions.
• Deep regulatory knowledge (FFIEC, COBIT, NIST, ITIL).
• Experience governing data privacy, AI risk and data controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain enterprise data and AI risk framework.
• Provide independent risk oversight (LOD2) for Enterprise AI and Data.
• Lead governance, oversight of risk policies, vendors, and regulatory compliance.
• Define and drive risk assessment programs for data management and AI.
• Prepare risk reporting and engage regulators as needed.
