U.S. Bank is seeking an AI Scientist to join the AI CoE, driving applied research and rapid prototyping to advance the bank's AI strategy. You will innovate from Exploratory research to production-grade AI solutions, partnering with engineers and product teams to deploy capabilities enterprise-wide.

You will stay current on AI advances, contribute to patents and publications, and help govern responsible AI within a highly regulated financial services setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience.
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Linguistics, or related field strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, evaluate, and experiment with emerging AI technologies, research breakthroughs, and industry trends, with emphasis on generative AI, LLMs, multimodal AI, and agentic AI systems.
• Develop hypotheses, design experiments, evaluate results, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Transform research concepts into working prototypes and production-ready AI solutions.
