Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an AI Scientist to join the AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE). This hands-on role spans the full AI lifecycle—from exploratory research to production deployment of AI solutions that create business value.

The ideal candidate has strong ML/AI expertise, experience with transformer models and foundational AI technologies, and a track record of innovation through publications, patents, or product delivery.

Qualifications

• PhD strongly preferred in CS/AI/ML or related field.
• Experience in building AI solutions in regulated industries is a plus.
• Ability to translate AI concepts into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, evaluate and prototype emerging AI technologies (LLMs, multimodal, agentic AI).
• Develop prototypes and production-ready AI solutions across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deploy AI capabilities.
• Contribute to governance, explainability, and maintainability of AI systems.
