Job summary

Unity is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to build an internal AI product analytics agent. You will own the data-facing layer, including analytics datasets and pipelines, and extend the knowledge layer over datasets.

You will collaborate with data scientists and analysts to shape the product and influence roadmap. You will work on data modelling, pipelines, knowledge retrieval, evaluation, and backend workflows, delivering usable solutions early for both technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping production systems.
• Hands-on data engineering with SQL, data modelling and data pipelines.
• Experience with a cloud data warehouse (ideally BigQuery) and a pipeline orchestration framework.
• Experience with LLMs/agent systems and measuring answer quality.
• Ability to work without a fully specified brief and deliver usable components early.
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with data scientists and analytics users.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve analytics datasets used by the AI agent, including data modelling and metadata.
• Build and maintain ETL and transformation pipelines feeding datasets.
• Improve knowledge retrieval, search, context construction and prompt history.
• Develop and extend evaluation systems to measure answer quality and drive improvements.
• Develop backend agent workflows for prompt handling, orchestration and response generation.
• Build user-facing features to speed analytics workflows for technical and non-technical users.
• Partner with data scientists to turn recurring analytics needs into reusable capabilities.
• Help set roadmap and technical direction for the data and quality platform.
