Job summary

EY seeks an AI Systems Engineer to design and operate the cloud-native platform powering EY’s AI-native capabilities. You will own infrastructure from bare-metal through Kubernetes, spanning on-prem, cloud, edge, and air-gapped targets, delivering a scalable, compliant substrate for production AI workloads.

You’ll collaborate with DevOps and security teams, implement IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps workflows, and ensure reliability and portability of the platform across environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 8+ years building or operating enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, or large-scale Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes distributions (RKE2, EKS/AKS/GKE, K3s).
• Experience across cloud, on-prem, edge, and air-gapped deployment models.
• Strong grounding in cluster networking, storage, and multi-tenancy isolation.
• Experience with GPU infrastructure and scheduling.
• Proven IaC and GitOps experience with Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm, ArgoCD, Crossplane.

Responsibilities

• Own the cluster & cloud-native platform including compute, Kubernetes, scheduling, and multi-tenancy.
• Own infrastructure foundation (Ubuntu/OS, Bare-metal, DPU, NVAIE) provisioning and patching.
• Manage EY Agentic AI environments across cloud, on-prem, edge, and air-gapped modes.
• Deliver foundational platform capabilities to support downstream runtime and data services.
• Own cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, GPU pooling, and tenancy boundaries.
• Own secure execution and inference environments with sandboxing for model workloads.
• Own cognitive routing and model/prompt selection with latency and cost controls.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, IaC, and GitOps to keep environments reproducible.
• Own backup, disaster recovery, and cross-environment replication for high availability.
• Ensure modular, swappable substrate to minimize vendor lock-in.
