Job summary

EY seeks an AI Systems Engineer to build and operate the foundational substrate powering EY’s AI-native platform. You will own the cloud-native platform, from bare-metal and GPU infrastructure to Kubernetes, cluster fabric, and multi-tenant scaling, across cloud, on-prem, edge, and air-gapped targets.

You will lead infrastructure foundation, secure execution, and cognitive routing, collaborating with DevOps to deliver reproducible, scalable platforms while meeting strict regulatory constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years building or operating enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes distributions (RKE2, EKS/AKS/GKE, K3s).
• Experience with bare-metal, cloud, hybrid, and air-gapped deployment models.
• Strong grounding in cluster networking, storage, and multi-tenancy isolation.
• Experience with GPU infrastructure and scheduling (NVAIE/DCGM).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps tooling (Terraform/OpenTofu, Helm, ArgoCD, Crossplane).
• Proven track record in regulated environments with security/compliance focus.

Responsibilities

• Own the cluster & cloud-native platform: compute, Kubernetes, scheduling, multi-tenancy.
• Manage infrastructure foundation: Ubuntu OS, bare-metal, DPU, NVAIE integration.
• Stand up EY Agentic AI environments across cloud, on-prem, edge, and air-gapped targets.
• Deliver platform capabilities so downstream services run safely and portably.
• Own cluster lifecycle, autoscaling, GPU pooling, and isolation per tenant.
• Oversee secure execution and inference with sandboxing and NVIDIA components.
• Own cognitive routing: Envoy AI Gateway, model/prompt selection, streaming results.
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, GitOps, Helm/OpenTofu for reproducibility.
• Ensure backup, DR, cross-environment replication and patching hygiene.
• Keep the substrate modular to minimize vendor lock-in and preserve contracts.
