Job summary

S:US is seeking an AI Engineer who will build the standards, tools, and controls to move AI solutions from experimentation into reliable production. You will report to the Vice President, Apps, Data & AI, and collaborate across IT to deliver secure, reusable, and cost-effective AI capabilities that support the mission.

The role focuses on engineering the AI platform, designing agent workflows, ensuring secure CI/CD, responsible AI practices, and cost monitoring.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software engineering experience in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions and API integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
• Experience evaluating AI output and applying responsible AI, privacy, and security controls.
• Strong full-stack engineering, API integration, automated testing, version control, and code review skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the AI development environment with GitHub, VS Code, Azure, and Copilot.
• Design reusable agent workflows and multi-agent coordination patterns.
• Evaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend those that fit S:US's Microsoft-first environment.
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise platforms and APIs end-to-end.
• Build testing and evaluation practices for AI-generated output with automated checks.
• Partner with IT Operations & Security to manage prompts, permissions, and supply chain risks.
• Monitor agent performance, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost.
• Create playbooks and training to help teams adopt AI engineering practices.
