Job summary

S:US is seeking an AI Engineer to build and standardize AI development environments, integrate agent workflows, and implement secure, reusable AI capabilities across IT systems. The role reports to the Vice President, Apps, Data & AI, and collaborates with IT to deliver cost-efficient AI solutions for the mission.

Responsibilities include designing agent patterns, evaluating tools, ensuring end-to-end reliability, and embedding testing, privacy, and security controls within the AI stack.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on AI agent development including workflows and integrations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps.
• Experience building secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and security checks.
• Experience evaluating AI outputs with responsible AI, privacy, and security controls.
• Full-stack engineering, API integration, automated testing, version control, and code review skills.
• Observability and monitoring tooling (Azure Monitor, Application Insights) and Jira familiarity.

Responsibilities

• AI Engineering & Platform Development: build and improve AI development env and integrations.
• Design reusable patterns for agent workflows and multi-agent coordination.
• Evaluate AI tools and recommend those fitting Microsoft-first environment.
• Integrate AI with enterprise platforms ensuring end-to-end reliability.
• Quality, Security & Responsible AI: implement testing practices and human reviews for high-risk changes.
• Apply privacy and security controls to agent workflows and tools.
• Protect PHI and sensitive data via access controls and masking.
• DevSecOps, Monitoring & Cost Management: strengthen CI/CD pipelines and embed security checks.
• Monitor performance, latency, token usage, and cost; optimize models and workflows.
• Collaboration & Enablement: create playbooks, training, and office hours for teams.
