Weedmaps is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Platform to design and operate production AI agents, including autonomous coding agents that work with Jira and Slack. You will build the retrieval/knowledge layers and extend the MCP server for shared skills and tools across teams.

The role emphasizes cost-aware model selection, prompt safety, and robust observability. A Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years in software development are expected; remote work is available in the US.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in professional software development, owning production services end to end.
• At least 1 year shipping LLM-powered features or agents to production.
• Experience building retrieval systems: embeddings, vector or hybrid search.
• Familiarity with AWS, CI/CD and observability tooling.
• Ability to measure impact with evals, A/B tests, or clear metrics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production AI agents including autonomous coding agent.
• Develop the retrieval and context layer behind the AI brain with embeddings and semantic search.
• Extend MCP server with shared skills, tools and processes for reuse by teams.
• Own evaluation pipelines and gate releases based on metrics.
• Minimize cost and latency by selecting appropriate models and caching outputs.
• Harden agents with least-privilege access and auditable actions.
• Instrument tracing and logging; participate in on-call and incident response.
• Write design docs, review code, and mentor engineers in LLM-based systems.
