Job summary

Syndio is hiring a staff-level engineer to take ownership of major runtime surfaces and grow into a technical owner of the platform. This is a high-autonomy role on a small team (3–4 engineers): you'll design, ship, and operate systems end-to-end, and you'll work directly with product-team owners through the platform's contribution seams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production backend systems with Python and cloud infra.
• Experience building LLM-powered systems in production (agent loop, tool-calling, RAG, or eval infra).
• Design for operability: compliance, tracing, and kill switches included by default.
• Ability to own a technical domain with writing clear API specs and taking reviews.

Responsibilities

• Own core runtime surfaces of syndi-api and agent loop.
• Contribute to evals, tool wrappers, and registry evolution.
• Ensure platform reliability, observability, and incident response.
• Design and implement platform compliance and legal requirements.
