Job summary

Post Acute Analytics Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Science team and own a core clinical AI model end to end. You will work on production systems that read clinical documentation and support decision making, balancing accuracy, latency, and cost.

You will collaborate with clinical and engineering teams, participate in sprint planning, and help ensure model evaluation and governance throughout releases.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills for production services and data pipelines.
• Experience designing evaluations for AI systems.
• Depth in prompt and context engineering.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar).

Responsibilities

• Own a production clinical AI model end to end: iteration, releases, accuracy, and production incident response.
• Collaborate with engineers and clinical team to design evaluation systems proving model correctness.
• Partner with clinical team on model audits and translating clinical rules into system behavior.
• Evaluate and integrate foundation models, balancing accuracy, latency and cost.
• Act as escalation point when clients or clinicians raise issues about a model.
• Maintain runtime inference infrastructure with other engineers.
• Collaborate in an Agile team with product, DevOps, InfoSec, and other teams.
