Job summary

Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape AI usage across the organization. You will design and deploy production AI capabilities, building shared infrastructure, services, and applications that empower other teams.

You will work closely with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders to implement AI into workflows and improve decision making. You will guide technical direction, maintain hands‑on involvement in design, development, and operations, and help drive

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and operating production software on AWS.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Experience delivering AI-powered applications to internal or external customers.
• AWS Bedrock or comparable enterprise AI platforms experience.
• API design, distributed services, and enterprise integrations.
• Approach to architecture, testing, observability, and support.
• Ability to translate business problems to software solutions.
• BS/BA in CS, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Design and build production AI applications on AWS with reliability and security.
• Develop AI agents, MCP servers, APIs, and shared platform capabilities.
• Partner with business and tech teams to map workflows to AI solutions.
• Evaluate tool use, retrieval‑based architectures, orchestration, and model evaluation.
• Modernize Python apps and integrate AI into Morningstar DBRS products.
• Contribute to technical decisions, engineering standards, and delivery planning.
